Metro Voyage en Inde…

Metro…I have travelled in two cities metro train: Delhi and Paris. I found Delhi’s metro more advance than Paris’ in terms of technology. But there is a huge difference in terms of crowd, frequency of metro etc.

Let me tell, first about my opinion and view point towards metro. It was really nice to travel with Delhi metro in Jan, 08. It was the feeling of proud. I have travelled several times from Dwarka 9 to Noida. It is really a long journey. But metro has reduced it in terms of time and money both. It’s a dust and pollution free journey. Delhi’s Metro is fully air-conditioned and designed on international standards. Everything is automated from ticketing& faring system to closing of doors.

If, I talk about Paris’ Metro system, I can’t resist myself to say that it is just awesome. It is accessible in the radius of 500 meters from any place in Paris and fully automatic. It runs faster than Delhi’s metro and has much larger network. Although it is too early to compare , but Delhi’s metro progressed so quickly that they are comparable.

What to observe while travelling through metro? Well…People provide seats to physically challenged, women and senior citizens. Most of the people respect Metro and help to keep it clean. But during peak rush hours it is so crowded that sometimes it is difficult to close the doors. I fear that this should not turn into Mumbai’s local trains. I hope frequency of Delhi metro soon will be increased by DMRC. It is already doing great work. I definitely appreciate their work. Oh… I was talking about some observation…for young guy like me there are lots of pretty young girls and off course vis-à-vis. Young students make noise as per energy of their age. It is very good to listen to their conversation that how a generation after us is growing (why am i talking like an man with 30 years age). But I am worried about their future (not that much…that could lead me to become a patient of psychosis). Mostly working class travels in metro and tourists.

As per my opinion, if number of trains increased on each route, it would make metro journey more enjoyable and comfortable. There should be dustbins inside and outside metro stations. Apart from this, I am sure that in next 10 years it would achieve great level of sophistication.
